1950s Soviet Alexandrite Ring

Vintage Estate Alexandrite in ornate handcrafted 14k gold setting. Beautiful cutout design with intricate details. The stone glitters magically when it catches the light. This piece dates from the 1950-1960s

This is a Soviet lab sapphire alexandrite stone that sparkles deep pink to bold crisp purple and shades of rich blue. Also called flame fusion Alexandrite Sapphire which is a unique method of treatment for stones used in Russia in the early 1950's.

What I like about this ring besides the colors of the stone is that is is sturdy well-made piece while being lightweight for the size.
